Аннотация: To estimate the red king crab abundance stochastic version of cohort CSA model was applied based on catch from trawl and pot surveys as well as fishery efficiency data. The status of commercial stock of the red king crab in the Barents Sea at present shall not be regarded as critical. Yet strong pressure from fishery produced negative impact on biological and fisheries parameters of the population in 2008-2009.

Аннотация: The paper presents a detailed description of the mathematic model to be used to estimate abundance of the White Sea harp seal population and the input data required for the model implementation. The paper also describes the model parameters and methods of their assessment. Abundance of the harp seal from 1946 to 2012 was estimated. The data from research literature were used to analyse the dynamics of fertility parameters of the While Sea harp seal population and to show its effect on the stock assessment.

Аннотация: There was no statistical significant relationship between catches of the schoolmaster gonate squid per unit of effort off the Kuril Islands and changes in the North Pacific Index (NPla, Aleutian Low). Such a relationship has been studied earlier, but here we analyze it using a more detailed time series and more powerful statistical methods, such as Generalized Additive Mixed Models. The inclusion of the Aleutian Low index in the calculation of abundance index based on fishery statistics has improved the model only slightly; however, this could be due to the use of relatively short time series of 15 years for catch data.

Аннотация: The regression methods are shown not to allow assessing an open local stock as in the case of the Leslie and De Lury classic models. To solve this problem, a method based on Kalman filter is suggested. Besides, there is given a description of some methodical weak points of De Lury model, which make it less preferable regarding to Leslie's model. This work presents the Leslie's Generalized Model with Kalman filter (LGM KF), which is aimed to reconstruct a stock dynamics during fishery using the temporary series of catches on local areas in the presence of migratory flows and neglected catch.

Аннотация: The known class of models of the fishery depletion is enlarged for a case of the non-isolated population. Dynamics of the local open stock under the fishery influence is described using the balance differential equations. A depletion model for the homogeneous-by-space stock is given as a Cauchy task. Its solution was obtained using the method of the constant variation. The analogous model for the heterogeneous-by-space stock is formulated as a Neumann task with non-stationary boundary conditions. A solution of this task was obtained as the source functions.

Аннотация: A modification to the acting Norwegian Spring-Spawning herring management plan is proposed. The modification links the choice of the target fishing mortality value to the estimates of recruitment for the distinct interval of preceding years.
