Разработаны методы хранения биолюминесцентных бактерий на основе замораживания, криоконсервации и сублимации с использованием криопротекторов./A test-system is proposed to assess water environments which is based on bioluminescence of native luminous bacteria isolated from the Azov and Black Seas. The bacteria are regarded as highly sensitive. Sixteen strains have been defined, two of them were identified at the level of species by genetic methods. Conservation methods have been developed based on freezing, cryoconcervation and sublimation (lyophilization) with cryoprotectors applied.

Аннотация: Veined rapa whelk (Rapana venosa) was first recorded in the Black Sea in 1947 near Novorossiysk and by the 1970s it spread along the whole Black Sea coasts. In this time interval the rapa whelk population was stabilized in number and during the 1980s its annual fluctuations depended only from climate changes. In recent years we have observed a decrease in rapa whelk size, its earlier spawning and larval settling on submerged substrate and flattening of regional morphological changes. Based on the data analysis for 1970-2010, we offered the hypothesis that the changes in the rapa whelk biology had occurred owing to the change of the lecithotrophic larval development pattern from the years of abundant food supply to the planktotrophic one in the years with low feeding benthos mass.

Аннотация: The dynamics of stock status and turbot's catches in the Black Sea are characterized. The factors, making the greatest negative impact on number of this species are defined. The data on fishing of turbot by the Black Sea countries, including Turkey, are resulted the unstable condition of stocks is ascertained. The ways of restoration of turbot's number, including by means of artificial reproduction technology, developed by FSUE "VNIRO" are offered.

Аннотация: Spatial and temporal variability in stocks and biochemical composition of dissolved and particulate organic matter (OM) in the Black sea shelf waters. Rates of the OM oxidation in the Caucasian shelf waters of the Black Sea increase in autumn leading to decline in the OM stocks by 1,5-3 times compared to summer both in the surface, and the bottom layers. Average period of the phosphate turnover is 10-20 h along the entire studied coastal area; thus, the phosphate recycling provides for intensive primary production of OM in summer. Owing to the active protease, coastal ecosystems utilize all the available protein during one day.

Аннотация: During the course of the late 80s - early 90s, the Black Sea area before the Kerch Strait was subjected to strong anthropogenic silting. As a result the area occupied by all the biocenoses, except for Terebellides stroёmi biocenosis, was reduced by 1.8 times from 4.399 thousand km2 to 2.491 thousand km2. Ascidiella aspersa biocenosis was completely lost. Its disappearance is also explained by the silt discharge from the Kerch Strait. Succession of Modiolus phaseolinus biocenosis and partially of Mytilus galloprovincialis one occurred into T. stroёmi biocenosis. A reduction of species diversity and abundance over all the silted biocenoses was observed. A decrease in the dominant species abundance was of great importance for the reduced number of the biocenoses. The species composition over the destroyed sites became more leveled in relation to the initial biocenoses. The net result was that communities of Pitar rudis and Spisula subtruncata were formed and the area of Terebellides stroёmi biocenosis was increased. It was found that Nephthys hombergii, N. longicornis and T. stroёmi are best tolerant of silting. Sponges do not withstand silting at all.

Аннотация: The hydro-acoustic surveys became today one of the main standard methods for estimation of fish abundance like trawl and larval surveys. After Soviet Union period any hydro-acoustic survey was not carried out in the Russian waters of the Black Sea. Taking into account experience and the current knowledge which the VNIRO scientists received by research activities on water areas of the Mediterranean sea, it is offered to renew hydro-acoustic monitoring of pelagic fish stocks on shelf zones of Black Sea with participation of all Black sea countries for estimation of distributions fish biomass within all Black Sea pool using identical methodical approaches and devices.

Аннотация: Literature and author's data from various areas of the World Ocean and seas of the Russian Federation are analyzed for the allocation of productive zones by the content of chlorophyll "a". This is an area where the vegetation period weighted average phytoplankton chlorophyll "a" concentration in euphotic layer is greater than 1 mg/m3. These include coastal waters in temperate and low latitudes of the oceans, where there is the ascent of deep waters of the Antarctic circumpolar water between 50-70 degrees S, as well as waters of the seas of the Russian Federation, which were investigated by the scientists of VNIRO: the Caspian Sea; coastal zone of the South-Western part of the Black Sea; the western part of the Bering Sea; Okhotsk and White Sea (offshore, coastal waters of these seas, upwelling zones of islands, capes and underwater hills, front and gradient zones and others).
