Аннотация: History of the development of restocking of aquatic biological resources in Russian Federation is reviewed in the article. Main negative factors affecting on populations of valuable fish and their natural reproduction are specified. It is shown the fundamental role of science in the development of this direction of the fishery. It is given a description of the modern level of artificial reproduction, its forms in the different regions of the country, its problems and prospects of development.
